Dear Parent/Carer,
Throughout the school year, we hold "Drop Days" on certain dates.
These days are also known as ‘off-timetable’ days and replace our structured classroom lessons with activities used to strengthen the practical application of skills and provide a deeper learning experience.
On Wednesday 21 May 2025, we will be holding a "Drop Day" titled Diversity Day.
During the day we will be learning about what makes us unique. We will also look at some famous adults with SEN, their skills and any barriers they have overcome.

The Speech and Language Therapy team have organised two dates for a training session on Gestalt Language Processing for parents/carers.
This session will explain what Gestalt Language Processing is, the stages in the development of language and strategies to support. This session will be particularly useful for parents/carers whose child uses scripted language, such as from movies/TV, and/or has limited spoken language. There will also be time for parents to ask the SaLTs specific questions at the end.
The dates and times for the training are:

Wednesday 4th June 10:00-11:30 (please RSVP by Friday 23rd May)

Dear Parent/Carer,
Understanding Behaviours of Concern – Free information sessions for family carers
Behaviours of concern relate to a wide range of actions that may negatively affect your cared for person’s quality of life, impact on their or other’s safety, lead to restrictions, limit access to ordinary community facilities or disrupt activities and opportunities. This could include self-injury, property damage, withdrawal or isolation, and physical or verbal aggression.
If you think this relates to you and the person you care for, please consider attending the information sessions all about understanding behaviours of concern. The sessions are over two half days, you will need to attend both days to get the most out of the information.
Please refer to the attached flyer for further information, including dates and locations of the sessions.
For more information on what to expect, and how to book onto the sessions, please visit redstone.pbs.co.uk/bcp-dorset-training.
